We came to NY for a family reunion which took place at Knoall Shoall. The house had the look of a bygone TV series, Peyton Place/Dynasty. At the spacious entrance there is a staircase on the top floor, on the right two huge living rooms and an auxiliary room. Left side is a passage to both kitchen and storage place. The top floor has seven bedrooms, with private bathrooms. In short, a family company house. The space around them is huge. A fantastic driveway with beautifully landscaped gardens. At the back of the house there is a beautiful swimming pool along with a hot tub and more than enough seats to relax. The mansion is in quiet wooded area a short distance to the town of Cornwall. We enjoyed the peace and space of the mansion.
The house is huge with lots of bedrooms for large get togethers. The hot tub and pool looked inviting although we didn’t get a chance to use them. The house and decor is a bit more dated than the pics seem to suggest and it could use some upgrades throughout but overall it was a good stay. The owners, Jake and his brother, were quick to reply with any questions and were helpful leading up to our stay.
We had a great Christmas here with our extended family. It was definitely large enough to easily accommodate the 7 adults and 1 toddler in our group (although it perhaps could have used a bit more dining room/living room seating) and was conveniently located to many local stores, restaurants, and attractions. With several different communal areas spread out throughout the house, we never felt too on top of each other. Jake was an good host who was easy to deal and made sure that we were comfortable during our stay. The house does feel like a bit of a work-in-progress, but if you have a larger group and are looking to stay in the area, it is a solid option.
We had a group of 13 of us & the property was perfect. Ample space to hang out, plenty of kitchen space to cook for a big group, & tons of beds and rooms where everyone had a place to sleep. The place has a very unique character to it that we really enjoyed. Our only regret was not being there in the summer as the yard & pool looked like great things to take advantage of! Our booking was last second and Austin & Jake were great hosts and helped us out. Will certainly book with them again!
